Since the release of their Strictly Roots CD early this year in April, one of Jamaica's top reggae groups, Morgan Heritage - have been blazing the trail on a globetrotting tour aimed at the album's promotion.

The band comprises of lead vocalist Peetah Morgan, Una Morgan [keyboards/vocals], Roy 'Gramps' Morgan [keyboard/vocals], Nakhamyah 'Lukes' Morgan [rhythm guitar] and Memmalatel 'Mr. Mojo' Morgan [percussion/vocals].

Aptly dubbed 'The Catch A Fire' tour, the promo-concerts officially which kicked off in Philadelphia [August 29] running through to Los Angeles [September 27] - also featured artistes Tarrus Riley, Black Am I, Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Skip Marley and Jo Mersa Marley among others.

The European leg of the performance is slated to commence on October 23 with several gigs slated to be staged in Switzerland, Holland, United Kingdom, Germany and France.

But last weekend, Morgan Heritage made a stopover in Nairobi, and performed at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre grounds. The band drew a huge crowd of fans whose enthusiasm was hardly dampened by an unusually heavy law-enforcement officers presence.

Some of the tracks performed at the concert, cut on Strictly Roots CD which is Morgan Heritage's 10th album - consistently elicited rapturous applause from frenzied audience.

The songs include the title track Strictly Roots, Sunday Morning, Rise and Fall, Perform and Done, Celebrate Life, Put It On Me, So Amazing [feat. J.Boog, Jemere Morgan & Gil Sharone] and Why Dem Come Around.

Other tracks are Child of JAH [feat. Chronixx], Keep On [feat. Shaggy], Wanna Be Loved [feat.Eric Rachmany], We Are Warriors [feat. Bobby Lee] and Light It Up [feat. Jo Mersa Marley].

And a day after the gig, keyboardist Gramps Morgan and Mombasa-based reggae artiste Igwo Mzuguller found some time to work on their collaborative song It's Your Life's video shoot alongside Jemere Morgan.

Notably, in less than six months Strictly Roots has remarkably risen to the top of popular albums rankings. The CD reportedly peaked at No. 1 on the iTunes Reggae United States Chart and also climbed on to No. 1 spot on the Billboard Reggae Chart.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the acclaimed band notably also resurfaced on Billboard's Reggae Top 10 chart thanks to their latest studio recording.
